(floreció s. I AD).

El rey más importante de la dinastía Kushan, que gobernó la parte septentrional del subcontinente indio, Afganistán y posiblemente algunas regiones situadas al norte de Cachemira, en Asia central. Se cree que ascendió al trono entre 78 y 144 AD y que gobernó durante 23 años. Es conocido por haber convocado un concilio budista que marcó el comienzo del budismo mahayana. Fue un rey tolerante que honró tanto a Buda como a las deidades zoroastrianas, griegas y brahmánicas. Durante su reinado, se incrementó en forma significativa el comercio con el Imperio romano, y es posible que el contacto entre él y los chinos de Asia central haya estimulado la propagación del budismo a China.
